파키스탄은 1947년 8월 14일 독립하여 68주년(금년 8월 14일은 독립한 해수로 68번째이고 주년(anniversary)으로는 67번째임) 행사를 8월 13일 오후 대통령궁에서 대통령주재 축하 문화행사, 밤 10시 40분부터 14일 새벽 자정 30분까지 의회 앞 마당에서 총리주재 축하행사(의장대 사열, 취주악단 연주, 제트기와 헬리곱터 비행, 불꽃 놀이 등)를 하고 다시 9시 대통령궁에서 국기게양식을 하였습니다.
각기 행사의 chief guest가 20-30분간의 연설을 하였는데 대체 요지는 독립 축하와 함께 나라 발전을 위한 테러 근절을 통한 안보, 국민단결과 경제발전을 강조하였습니다.

8월 15일 우리나라의 69주년 8. 15 광복절을 맞이하여 파키스탄 친지들은 아래와 같은 축하 메시지를 보내어 왔습니다.
May I take this opportunity to felicitate you and the honourable diplomats from Republic of Korea on the Independence Day. I am sure under your wise guidance,

LAHORE: Pakistani Rangers exchanged sweets with personnel from the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to celebrate Pakistan’s 68th Independence Day at the India-Pakistan Wagah border post on Thursday.
Punjab Rangers Director General, Major General Khan Tahir Javed Khan, and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) M F Farooqui exchanged sweets during the ceremony and also offered good wishes to each other.
A Pakistani Ranger also unfurled the national flag as BSF personnel watched during a ceremony to celebrate the country’s Independence Day on August 14, 2014.
Pakistan was celebrating the 67th anniversary of its independence from British rule today."
